• construct theories and laboratory experiments to simulate processes
• look for other examples beyond Earth

We approach these problems using the

SCIENTIFIC METHOD

• Create hypotheses
• conduct tests or experiments
• right or wrong?
• if wrong, then try new hypotheses

Often messy but it works!
