Dad Visits Dec 2007
Father arrives fresh from his long trip.
First dinner experience in LA.
Setting up for the Biker gig.... turns out they're real bikers!
The band dudes wait outside for their chance to play.
Yes... it's cell phone tower!
The "support" act Blues Union featuring the lovely Joe on bass.
Play "smoke on the water" or die!
Alexis in full flight.
Tom and his all purpose socket wrench.
Theo in full flight.
... and the audience went wild!
Kaspar in full flight. Note the Constitution.
Theo, Antoine and Bob's silhouette.
The acoustic set with Theo on the drums.
Bloody foreigners!
Later, we prepare to set sail, too cold for a plumbers crack though.
Don-eye the sailor man!
That's right, Theo takes control of the boat seriously.
The hat was essential sailor gear.
Two happy Theos on the water where they belong.
One seriously large boat.
The destination..... a rock. Hey, you gotta go somewhere!
The homestead's view.
Ta DA! The two dimensional tree!
You can see the excitement on their faces.
Once again, we scored!
Sallie does her standard smug smile.
Yay! What the hell is it?
Theo continues to peddle his wears.
A new way to hear ourselves on stage.
The smug look again.
Helga once again helps us out in the food department.
On our way to Los Vegas.
But first.... the Hoover dam.
Inside the dam.
Down in the depths of the Hoover dam.
Yup.... it's a lot of concrete.
Behind there somewhere is a lake.
An engineer's delight.
The output of the dam. And all this to light up Los Vegas.
Hanging on for dear life.
The water level is a tad low.
On to Vegas and the largest steak in the Universe.
This is inside a Hotel.
Self portrait in Los Vegas.
On the road again... this time towards Death Valley.
I know the valley is around here somewhere.
It's over there!
Hmmm.... might make a decent view for a painting.
No, he isn't taking a piss.
At the museum, and already below sea level.
On our way down to Bad Water.
Yes, we did try the water. Yes, it's pretty bloody bad!
Note the Bad Water.
On our way again, we just loved the local roads.
Theo senior behind the wheel.
There's a reason they call it Death Valley..... there's not a lot of life.
Reaching the end of the valley now.
Lone Pine can get cold.... note the frozen tap water.
The view from our cheap, but clean, Hotel in Lone Pine.
A coffee stop on the road.
Tom, back for a short while, helps us work up a routine for New Years.
Antoine and Theo join in.
Lot's 'O' singing.
That's right... a bar chord.
Place of Sallie's car catching on fire. We eat there as well.
A pre-diner well deserved snooze.
The band at work on New Year's Eve.
Theo gets to play guitar and drums at the same time.
Tom gets to play the guitar and the sofa at the same time.
Ah, back in the good old days when we had four singers.
Mean while..... back in Australia......
