First week in Grasse 2010 09 03
Beth helps Sallie out with the hair job.
Packed and ready to go.
Last phones calls....
Our new kitchen in Grasse. Had that new fangled induction thing that didn't work.
The view from the living room.
We had an upstairs and a down stairs.
The steps up and out.
The front door.
Not even a lizard in the bide
The spare room.
Ta DA! We have a front door.
We also have a gate. This is Theo going to work.
Work is that way, up. Always up or down in Grasse.
A man and his sign.
A man and his office.
Sallie joined me there. Mostly for the Internet I fear.
Got to Lisbon with only some difficulty due to the strikes.
Check out the bath tub!
... and the sink!
They really liked statues in Lisbon.
Here's one leading onto campus.
Andreas was serious as always.
Peter gave us the bad news with a sense of humor.
Dave gave us opinion, but he *is* from Cambridge.
Olivier was French at us.
Peter and I played hooky one day.
A local Lisbon street.
Square down town.
Where he belongs....
Local Church. Their normally is one.
There's normally one of these too.
Tiles my wife would like.
More freaking statues!
View from the fort at the top of the hill.
Lisbon has a big hugging Jesus just like Rio!
A fighting man's castle.
View through the battlements.
Peter found animals.
Note the local fauna included peacocks.
This is what I et paid to do.
See... real peacocks!
A the damn round table discussion. These *never* work.
See how much Vincent and I are enjoying this?
Ah the second course of the nine course meal. There was dry ice involved.
Course three I think. I missed some.
That thing in gold is an egg.
Made from pigs feet. Yum.
Lamb and peas! Double Yum!
Two happy and full, scientists.
A last read and drink before I fly back to Grasse.
Meanwhile, they are hard at work observing by remote control.
It is serious work.
This is what Sallie fed herself in Theo's absence.
Some flowers Sallie liked.
More flowers Sallie liked.
Sallie *likes* flowers.
Guess.
